Dear Colleagues, It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 26th Congress of the International College for Maxillo-Facial Surgery (ICMFS), to be held in the beautiful Canary Islands, Spain, from February 1st - 4th, 2012. The Congress will offer a rich and high quality scientific program including keynote addresses by world experts, master classes, panel discussions, oral presentations and poster sessions, a professional expo as well as several sponsored symposia. The meeting will give the attendants the opportunity to meet with old friends and gain new ones. The host place is the Island of Gran Canaria, with its old Spanish city, rich with cultural and architectural heritage. Most of the Congress hotels and meeting places are within walking distance of each other, making it easy to meet with old friends and to make new ones. The field of Maxillo-Facial Surgery is a dynamic and evolving specialty and as such, our initiatives need to look ahead. ICMFS's efforts for the future will focus on expanding the fellowships in implantology, surgical head and neck oncology, craniofacial surgery, cleft surgery, salivary glands surgery, traumatology, medical and pharmacotherapy of cancer, radiotherapy and cosmetic facial surgery, as well as nursing, thus enhancing the quality and quantity of education offered through ICMFS. Results of recent scientific research will be merged into keynote lectures, which will be delivered by invited speakers. I would like to invite all maxillofacial surgeons sharing the same field of work, as well as all colleagues from related disciplines to join us in the magical island of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands, where the temperature in January is about 25ºC, and to participate with their lectures, posters and attendance.
